Abstract

This study aimed to perform a taxonomic assessment of algae belonging to the genus Cosmarium Corda ex Ralfs 1848, present in rural artificial lakes in Campo Mourão, PR, to contribute to the phycological data of the Paraná State. The samples were collected in August 2015 and the material was obtained from petioles of Salvinia auriculata Aubl, Elodea sp. and Nymphaea sp.. Samples were fixed with Transeau solution. It was found 32 Cosmarium taxa, from which five were exclusive from the first lake, 12 from the second lake, and 14 were present in both lakes.
