<div align="justify">INFLUÊNCIA DA PROTEÍNA SOBRE A REPRODUÇÃO ANIMAL: UMA REVISÃO

Resumo

Durante as últimas décadas, a produtividade do rebanho bovino tem aumentado significativamente. Este aumento tem sido atribuído principalmente à intensa seleção de características produtivas, tais como maiores produções de carne e leite, melhor manejo sanitário e reprodutivo, e também um manejo nutricional mais adequado. Esta revisão tem o objetivo de demonstrar a relação existente entre a nutrição e a fisiologia da reprodução de ruminantes e se concentrará no estudo do metabolismo protéico. Com o aumento no desempenho animal, há um acréscimo nas demandas por nutrientes para síntese de leite e de tecidos. O aumento nos requerimentos nutricionais pode afetar as funções reprodutivas, se o animal não apresentar um aumento compensatório de ingestão de nutrientes.

THE INFLUENCE OF PROTEIN ON ANIMAL REPRODUCTION: A REVIEW

Abstract

During the last few decades, cattle productivity has increased significantly. This increase has been attributed mainly to intense selection of productive traits, such as higher beef and dairy yields, improved sanitary and reproductive management, as well as a more adequate nutritional control. The objective of this review is to demonstrate the existing relationship between nutrition and the physiology of ruminant reproduction, and it will focus on the study of protein metabolism. With the boost in animal performance, comes an increase in demands for nutrients for the synthesis of dairy and tissue. The increase in nutritional requirements can affect reproductive functions if the animal does not obtain a compensatory increase in nutrient intake.
