ENTREPRENEURSHIPAND AND MANAGEMENT IN SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS: An analysis from Schumpeterian elements and from Simon Decision-making Arenas

In this work the exploration of the context in entrepreneurial social organizations is based on the study of the relationship between the elements of entrepreneurship drawn from the Schumpeter writings (1997) and Simon Decision-Making Arenas (1965) in their management processes. The aim is to analyze how the elements of entrepreneurship in the management of social organizations articulate themselves. The study has a qualitative approach of descriptive nature. The eight social organizations were addressed according to size and scope of their social work. Nine directors agreed to be interviewed in depth, with 51 questions. The contribution of this work is in the field of study of the flow of decision making in social organizations related to elements of entrepreneurship. This has allowed a better knowledge about the reality of these institutions, since they have permeated all the management process from the formulation of its vision to day-to-day management practices. The results show that in social organizations the management apparatus faces two challenges: manage the internal routines focusing on social work and promote an interface management with social structure compatible with the practices and market’s and government’s laws.
}, number={1}, journal={Perspectivas Contemporâneas}, author={Santos-Silva, Antonio dos and Martins, Henrique Cordeiro and Tedeschi, Walter and Carvalho Neto, Antonio}, year={2015}, month={jul.}, pages={146–166} }
