A base teórica utiliza-se de autores que estudam essa nova geração. A natureza da pesquisa é qualitativa, do tipo descritiva, interpretativa, com delineamento de estudo multicaso. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio da Análise de Conteúdo. O estudo revelou que jovens da Geração Y são vistos pelos gestores como possuidores de características distintas das outras gerações. Reforçam comportamentos que são relevantes para o planejamento e o desenvolvimento de softwares, como a inquietude, o questionamento, o gosto pela tecnologia, a agilidade e a criatividade. Como contribuições, a pesquisa revela desafios com os quais as empresas se deparam para lidar com as diferentes gerações.</p><p>WHAT MANAGERS THINK ABOUT Y GENERATION? A STUDY ON THE<br />TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS CENTER OF FLORIANÓPOLIS</p><p>This work aims to analyze what managers who work in technology-based companies in the city of Florianópolis, think about Y Generation professionals, young people who were born during the period 1980/1990. The theoretical basis use authors who study this new generation. The nature of research is<br />qualitative, descriptive, interpretive, with multicase study design. Data analysis was performed by means of content analysis. The study revealed that young people of Y Generation are seen by managers as having distinct characteristics from other generations. Reinforce behaviors that are important for the planning and Software development, such as restlessness, questioning the taste for technology, agility and creativity.
