Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the biological development and leaf consumption of armyworm in Bt hybrids expressing different proteins. The experiment was conducted in laboratory. The experimental design was completely randomized design with seven treatments and 30 repetitions. The treatments consisted of a conventional hybrid and Bt hybrids with different events (YieldGard, Herculex, Agrisure TL, YieldGard VT PRO, Power Core and Agrisure Viptera). Leaf consumption, period of development and larval and pupal viability was assessed. The results showed that different hybrids with Bt technology affected the consumption and the biological development of Spodoptera frugiperda. The highest mortality rates were achieved in the Agrisure Viptera events, YieldGard VTPRO and Power core. The hybrid expressing the Herculex event obtained intermediate effect. Events in YieldGard and Agrisure TL, leaf consumption of larvae was similar to that obtained in the conventional hybrid.

Key words: Zea may; Spodoptera frugiperda; transgenics.

}, number={2}, journal={Revista Campo Digital}, author={Peterlini, Edicarlos and Oliveira, Nádia Cristina and Azevedo, Ana Paula}, year={2014}, month={dez.} }
