O estudo relata a nidificação de gaviões carijós no município de Peabiru-PR, região noroeste do Estado. Os gaviões construíram um ninho em uma árvore a cerca de 4 metros do solo, em uma mata ciliar localizada nas intermediações de uma propriedade rural. O ninho foi acompanhado de Setembro a Dezembro de 2006. Contatou-se a presença de dois filhotes, sendo que apenas um sobreviveu.

Abstract

This study reports the nesting of roadside hawks in Peabiru-PR, a city in the northwestern region of Paraná. The hawks have built a nest in a tree at about 4 meters above the ground, in a riparian forest, in a rural property. The nest was monitored from September to December of 2006. The presence of two fledgling was observed and, only one of them has survived.
